Taking direct coach fr Singapore to Cameron Highlands 7 Years ago
Wonder have anyone can share their experience travelling directly fr Sg.
If the arrival time ok? i.e not reaching CH in the midle of the night.
Which route does the coach go up? Fr Tapal or S.Pulai? Is the winding & turning feel worst than car?
Hope someone can advice. I'm thinking of not driving up myself. The journey is too long and tiring.

I have not tried going directly from SG to CH, by bus. But according to a friend who did, the bus will leave SG at 10pm. It will reach CH in the early morning around 7am.

It took the Tapah route up.

Motion sickness is a very personal situation. All I can say is I felt it more when going down, than the upward trip.

Personally, if you or your family have a problem with motion sickness. I would suggest you drive there instead of the bus. You can regulate the speed of the car when going up or down. Beside transportation there is a bit inconvenient if you're familiar with how their transportation works.

Hi SinChee, thanks for your reply.
But what do you mean "Beside transportation there is a bit inconvenient if you're familiar with how their transportation works."?

A fair bit of the interesting places is not near the main road. So some walking is needed.

Also, bus stops area are not really prominent, unlike SG. And the waiting time between buses can be a test of your patience. If you're rushing to cover places, it can be a bit frustating.

If you still want to go there by bus, one option you can have is to engage a local tour at CH. Never use them, so I can't comment much. Beside, I've been to those tourist area before.

Hopes this helps.

Hi, just to share my experience on a trip to CH Equatorial Sept last year. I boarded a 26 seater coach at Beach Rd. Departed at about 10pm. Very comfortable seats. By the time the bus reached KL, I was the only passenger left. From there, went right up to CH and arrived about 7am and checked in hotel straight away. The journey was ok to me. The funny thing is on my departure, the 26 seater coach came and again I was the only passenger from CH to KL (where they picked up more passengers on the KL-SG route). Felt so great like a VIP on board the bus. But very paiseh. There should be more marketing done. When I was at the recent Malaysia Tour expo at Suntec last mth, I was disappointed that there was no booth promoting CH. Nice weather, nice flowers there. Should visit it.

Hi Steven,

Thank you for sharing your experience. Tot of going there next week, however, I was wondering about the fare for the 2-way trip, izzit worth the amount you pay for the bus-trip?

Thank you once again.

Can't recall exactly the cost. It was a package deal including hotel stay. I would say it was a comfortable carefree ride all the way up to the front of the hotel.

Found this on the Net, regarding direct bus to CH.

www.majulahtravel.com/coach.html

As mentioned before, never try them so could not comment on the service.

Hope this is useful.

Not too sure about the travel company you are talking about. But there are plenty of travel agencies selling coach tickets to Cameron Highlands.

Just came back from Cameron Highlands on Monday, 22 May 2006. Understood from most travel agencies that there is usually very few coaches going to Cameron Highlands on a daily basis so some of these travel agencies actually combine their customers and arrange for the same coach to Cameron Highlands even though you may have made bookings with different travel agancies.

The standard departure timings for Coach is 10.30pm (assembly time at Golden Mile Complex is 10pm). The coach will reach Brinchang town of Cameron Highlands at about 7am, with various stops for restrooms, etc in between.

These are some of the agencies specialising in Malaysia coach tickets or Malaysia Free & Easy tours which you might find useful.

Hi,

I am planning to visit CH this weekend via KL.
Is it possible to engage any local tour service in CH to cover a few plances of interest?
Would be great to know more about bus route from KL to CH. The frequency and the duration of travel.
